Waste water treatment

Currently Chengdu has a daily waste water treatment capacity of 1.22 million tons.

Sanwayao Sewage Treatment Plant which is located inside the south park has a capacity of 400,000 ton/day, meeting the Grade 1 of the National Comprehensive Waste Water Discharge Standard, GB8978-1996 (PH:6-9,COD:60mg/l. SS:20mg/l).

The west park Waste Water Treatment Plant has a daily treatment capacity of 40,000 tons, with a well placed pipe network. Corporated waste water treatment plant has a daily treatment capacity of 50,000 tons, with a well placed pipe network fully completed in June 2009.

Noise

A noise control according to the National Standard, GB-12348-90, of a daytime 65dB(A) and a evening 55dB(A) has been conducted in Chengdu hi-tech zone.

Solid Waste

Solid (poisonous) and radioactive wastes generated by companies in the Hi-tech Zone, which can not be properly treated by the companies themselves, could be entrusted to Chengdu Dangerous Solid Waste Treatment Centre or Sichuan Monitoring Centre for Radioactivity for treatment.

Green

Chengdu is the “national green pioneer city” and “Provincial garden city”. The city green land coverage is 33.65%, the green coverage is 36.46% and the public green land is 9.22 square meters per capita. Chengdu Hi-tech Zone has a green coverage of more than 40%.
